Hi all,

I have several word documents on a small network that have some how become corrupted. In Windows Explorer, the file names show up blue as if they are compressed. When I open the documents, the only text are thousands of squares that look like the ascii carriage return symbol. Does anyone have a clue what could have caused this.... a virus maybe? Thanks in advance for you help!

I am dealing with Excel doc corruption right now.
Try running ScanDisc to see if virus present, by then I hope someone will step up and tell more...

Good Luck
TIA

have you checked the version of word they were created with as oppossed to the version you are running.

if created with later version than you are trying to open with then trouble
