unreadable character opening .xls in excel 2007

when i create .xls file in excel 2003 and open in excel 2007 it can not be opened properly the sheet become full of unreadable characters

What does your file contain. Script, Macro etc.

Also check the properties if its not read only.

Thanks Kushii for taking your time to help me.My file contains an excel sheet containing text,numbers and simple formulas.And my file is not read only

It can only happen when the sofatware does not support the file.
For example if someone trying to open .doc file in Ms Paint,it would not open because paint does not support Ms word properties.

And Your version if also Low To High (2003 to 2007).

You can try to save your file again and then try to open in Excel 2007.when you are saving the file check all the properties in the 'Save As dialog box'.Have a look in the 'Type in' box as well.
