Hello everyone,

I'm a 'technical' user, at least i try to be one ;p.
Can someone clear up things in the following situation?

Site A:
Network: 10.0.5.0/255.255.255.0
IPO: 10.0.5.241
Switch: 10.0.5.250
GW: 10.0.5.253

Site B:
Network: 10.1.122.0/255.255.255.0

When on site B, i can ping everything but the IPO. I've tried to add an IP route (10.0.0.0/255.255.255.0/LAN1), but that doesn't seem to change things.
Can anyone please tell me what i'm doiing wrong?
Thanks!

Try adding an IP route such as

IP address <blank>
IP Mask <blank>
gateway 10.0.5.253
Destination LAN1

the IPO doesn't know what do with packets from remote network, so can't return the ping. Giving it a default route says "chuck anything not on this network to the gateway and let it decide what to do"

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

thanks for the reply ;p.

When this is successfull, so when i can ping, will i then be able to open the config remotely, via the manager? Because this is the initial intention.

Thanks.

I can only say probably!

It depends on your network set up and firewalls (you will need to unblock port 69 TFTP for it to work)

Likewise, over a routed link, you must use the IP address of the system in order to access it rather than broadcast (255.255.255.255)
