Ok , here we go, I have to install cisco any connect on one of my laptops, however my partner decided to bring it to a so called IT pro (!!!!!) ..that individual only did MS updates (about 42 unnecessary files to be exact !!)

I am very careful about using space on my devices and I only use manual updates to choose. MS office is not even a paid product on my laptop and that person messed up..also IE browser updates which makes no sense ..however that IT person never ever helped in installing cisco any connect but used up time and space for updating unnecessary ms products...

what is the possibility to uninstall some of the files (sometimes it's a bridge u can't go back !!)

any help very much appreciated .

(PS even the help desk is a kind of not knowing anything..)

guitarzan,

I agree wholeheartedly with your comment about blindly running windows updates without first communicating with the user but nowhere is it mentioned what - if any - agreement was in place between the "IT moron" and the OP's partner.

In my opinion it was the OP's partner who, to all intents and purposes, was the "IT moron"'s customer, not the OP. As a result, I would actually feel sorry for the "IT moron" for apparently trying to do his best if he hadn't asked for and received clear instructions.

However, if his customer- the OP's partner - made it clear to the "IT moron" that all decisions about work undertaken were to be agreed with the OP first then, yes, I agree with a previous comment about yelling at him to fix the OP's subsequent issues.

All said and done, hopefully all - OP, partner and "IT moron" - will have learnt a little from this experience. I just hope the OP was able to recover from it to his satisfaction.

Seems like the idea of sharing admin passwords with your partner is not really working out...
