I have a cordless handset which someone has locked with a pin code. They have now left the company! I have carried out a CXAKP so I now have the encrypted authentification parameter. Does anyone know how to get the IPEI number from this?

cxakp:dir=XXXX,autdet=yes;

Sorry Quilted Camel, I should have said it is a DT570.

I take it the lack or response means no one knows how to do this?!!

I think the problem is that the handset is totally locked so *#06# is unreachable....

When the DT570 is locked the only way to unlock it is by entering the pincode (I tried 0000 but the user changed it), or the IPEI#, which you can't display with *#06# if it is locked. The CXAKP command will only show the IPEI of an unregistered handset. Once it has been registered the IPEI is encrypted. Guess we should have kept that spreadsheet of IPEI's up to date as we issued the handsets!!

This method of unlocking the phone works for a DT290 and may work for the DT570 too :

If you make three unsuccessful PIN attempts then
'PIN Blocked, Unblock ?' is displayed.
Press 'YES'
'Backdoor:' is displayed
Enter 0000707402170. This works for quite a few Ericsson h/sets.
Press 'YES'
'EnterNewPIN:' is displayed
Make up a new PIN.
'Repeat PIN' is displayed.

Phone is now unlocked and you can enter *#06# to get IPEI with the DT570 or scroll through menus for DT290.

njohn343 - Thanks for the suggested fix but it didn't work! The handset just diplays <Enter lock code> all the time no matter how many attempts to enter the PIN are made. I think the only thing it will accept is the 4 digit PIN code created by the user, or the IPEI number.

I think this can be solved by using the software, Cordelss Manager (I think it´s called that). I have never done it but I think you should hook up the phone via a serial cable to a PC and from CM you should be able to clear the PIN-code.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Not sure what Cordless Mngr is as we don't have it & have no cable to connect the phones. We're BC10 integrated mob so don't use any physical connection to DECT phones.

Anyway a happy ending - we managed to get in touch with the guy who set the PIN code so got it unlocked after all!
Cheers
