I heard that you can buy an unlicensed switch. Do these really exist?
 
If you buy a switch from anyone but Avaya or an Avaya Business Partner it is an unlicensed switch. You can find them on ebay and many other places.

FYI If you use one of these switches and get caught, you are breaking the law by violating the software licenese and you can get caught and it will cost you a bunch.

unlicensed switch can be done when someone does a RFA processor swap out. This will render the processor inactive in RFA, but technically you can still use the processor in another switch but you will not be able to upgrade that switch and if you have any problems, you wont be able to download any license file as there will be a license mismatch
