Hello everybody

This may be a stupid question but is there a .profile file when logged in as root - if so where is it?
Specifically I want /usr/local/bin to be added to PATH when I log in as root. This is easy in OS5 but I'm lost in UW7.

Thanks Tony

.profile does not exist in $HOME on my setup (UW7.1.1) - is this correct?
I have now created $HOME/.profile, extended the $PATH and it works OK

Doesn't sound correct to me, no.

But as lomg as you have it now..

Possibly you changed your home directory??

Not changed anything as far as I am aware. The same situation has occurred on another UW7 system as well That one is actually a NSC system and I didn't build it!
But as you say it is doing what I want.
Thanks again Tony
