Unixware 7 - Add new tape drive

I need to add a new tape drive to a SCO Unixware 7 system. There's no "mkdev" on the system. SCOADMIN doesn't seem to have the tools for the task. Tried man -k tape with no luck.

The user has documentation on-site, but I would like to know what to expect before I go there.
