In Windows 2003, the backup of Shadow copy components backs up the system state in Windows 2003. Whst do we need to backup in AIX, Netware and linux to take care of the system state just as it is taken care in windows 2003 by backing up showdow copy component in NetBackup

Luckily, Linux does not have anything like a system state.

AIX has command called <mksysb> its operating system.

According my experience, NetBackup (5.1MP1 - MP5) is NOT able to backup the system state of a simple Windows 2003 system. No matter what SYMANTEC promises,it DOES NOT WORK ! Even if a backup job of the Shadow Copy Components returns a status 0, it does not mean that the system state has been back uped COMPLETELY.
