on boot up i get an error message "prc_sync: Script (s90atlas) failed to complete in 120 seconds"
How do I resolve this issue?

find out why S90atlas is not completing....
I am assuming SCO Openserver.
it should be in /etc/rc2.d
this is the Netscape Server startup script.

do other network services start?
do you need the netscape servers?

thank you. Yes i am using open server 5.0.6. I do need netscape to provide access to the internet. I am using two 3com nic cards, one for the local network and one for access to the internet. I am getting a message saying that /dev/net1 is not known and yet is shows up in the /dev directory. I suspect that these two issues arerelated. I have looked at the S90atlas script file and can not see why it would "hang" unless it can't access the /dev/net1.

Seems that only one Nic is defined.
Take a look at the output of:
hwconfig -h
to see if you have two 3Com nics detected.
Anyway, take a look at netconfig.

the second nic does not appear in hwconfig. it does appear in netconfig.

No error in /var/adm/messages since last boot ?

yes. now i get an error message "error incorrect SCO ISAM Runtime System installed:3" however by removing resolv.conf (actually doing a mv to resolv.conf.save) i am no longver getting the prc_sync error. It appears that all of these problems relate to the second nic card.

yes. the history is that i tried to move my old hard drive into a new upgraded box. ran into trouble with it and moved it back. had trouble with that and did a restore from an old back up to restore the / directory.
