Well.... I'm trying to uninstall Exchange 2000 SP3. Exchange 2000 is installed on a Windows 2000 server SP4 that is a DC. When I attempt to remove Exchange thru add/remove I got the following error:

Multiple components cannot be assigned the requested action(s) because:
- You do not have sufficient permissions in the domain

I can't understand why i'm getting this error. The account that i log in onto the server with is the Domain Admin account. What am I missing here ?

You might need to add enterprise admin and exchange admin rights. Also, I'm not sure I would uninstall exchange for a server, I would probably either stop the services and leave it installed or reinstall Win2k Server from scratch.

No good.. The account already had Enterprise Admins and i added the Exchange Admin. Still insufficient permissions.

Surely there is a way to remove exchange. ??

Can you use the global ADMINISTRATOR account? The Administrator account has all the rights necessary. If you cannot uninstall E2K with that account, then the issue may not be from permission.

Finally I was able to uninstall exchange. I'm still haven't sorted out the permission issue. When I logged onto the server with my own personal user/pass (which is a member of the global Administrator account) I was able to remove exchange, ... but the account i was using previously should have had enough permission. Hopefully tomorrow i can make sense out of this.

Have you been able to move your Public Contacts?
