unistall of norton internet securtiy 2004 messed up comp settings

I unistalled Symantec Norton Internet Security 2004. Now when I go under control panel > performance and maintenance, there is no option to defragment the computer. Even when I right-click > properties > tools on my harddrive icon, the defrag option is not there. I am running winxp home. Did Norton take over my defrag option when it was installed? If so, how do I turn the defrag option back on? Your help would be most appreciated.

Mine also disappeared from Local Disc Croperties but i was still able to access the defrag thru System Tools

Was able to restore it in Croperties by going to Control Panel - Administative Tools - Performance - File - Options - Disk Cleanup and delete files
