Gurus,

I've got a table called "Jobs" containing an autonumber PK, called JobID which increments for every new row.

I would like to create a new unique field called JobNumber, which is derived from the JobID column as follows:

JobID JobNumber
1 APA00001
2 APA00002
3 APA00003
....
10 APA00010
....
100 APA00100

and so on. Anyone any ideas how to do create the JobNumber field? Sorry, my Access knowledge is a bit basic!

TIA,
Neil

A starting point:
JobNumber = "APA" & Format(JobID, "00000")

Hope This Helps, PH.
