I installed SP2 not fully understanding that it takes almost 1 GB of disk space. Currently we are sitting at 575mb and it doesn't seem to be enough free space as my users are experiencing adnormal slowness in our applications and printing seems to be effected as well.

The server is a 2003 Terminal Server. My question is ...Has anyone uninstalled SP2 and experienced any problems/troubles in do so? If so...would you have any advice?

Wait - your applications and data are on the same partition as the OS? I think THAT is far more critical.

Go to c:\windows\ and remove all of the $NTuninstall directories. Be aware that once you do this, you cannot uninstall these patches but you typically wouldn't want to do that anyway. There are tons of articles on whether or not this is safe, so I'll let you decide for yourself.

No...my main applications are on another drive. My c drive is only 6GB Total

The $NTuninstall files under C:\windows is almost 700mb. That would be a decent amount of space to recover. Anyone got any experience or opinions on deleting these files?

If I moved them to another storage device and if I ever need them would they work if I just copy them back?

Well, 6GB is still way too small, IMHO.

Yes, you can USUALLY safely delete them, or copy them to another volume. Either way.

i've uninstalled it on a citrix box and it was fine
worked no probs

it popped it back on again though - i was just curious to whether it did come off ok.

I removed the $NTUninstall files over the weekend and everything seems to be working fine. I noticed there is a $hf_mig$ file. Is this file alright to remove as well?

You could also move your paging file, if you haven't done that already...

Yes ...the paging file has been moved.

Would you mind telling me what's involved with moving the print spooler?

I'm also wondering how I can get bigger drives in the server without re-installing everything. I realize this is not the place to post it....sorry :)
