We are in the process of migrating our NT4 domains to Active Directory. Part of this migration involves uninstalling my SMS site (since sms doesnt support domain name changes on the fly).

I am looking for documentation on the best way to completely uninstall an SMS site and all the clients. Cant seem to find anything in TechNet.

I am assuming all the clients need to be unassigned and unisntalled first and then remove all the site systems and then last uninstall the central and primary servers.

anyone seen documentation on this or done it before?

thanks

Removing the SMS clients is not always streight forward, but that is what you will have to do. There is a good web cast on Microsoft by Wally Mead. He is the SMS guru. Check it out.

I didnt uninstall SMS during that upgrade and I dont recommend doing it ...unless ya just want to :)

Here is a link exactly how to do it (It was a piece of cake)

Good luck! Now with all that said, if your going to upgrade to 2003, perhaps thats not such a bad idea ;)
