How can I uninstall "Imaging for Windows"? It doesn't appear in any of the usual install/uninstall places. I need to get rid of it and may have to do it piece by piece, reg entry by reg entry, if there is no help available.
Thanks,
Steve
to make this component appear in add/remove windows components (run add/remove programs from control panel - then its third button down), you need to edit a file called sysoc.inf in \winnt\inf. There should be an entry looking like this:-
[Components]
NtComponents=ntoc.dll,NtOcSetupProc,,4
Display=desk.cpl,DisplayOcSetupProc,,6
Fax=faxocm.dll,FaxOcmSetupProc,faxsetup.inf,hide,7
NetOC=netoc.dll,NetOcSetupProc,netoc.inf,,7
iis=iis.dll,OcEntry,iis.inf,,7
com=comsetup.dll,OcEntry,comnt5.inf,hide,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
dtc=comsetup.dll,OcEntry,dtcnt5.inf,hide,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
IndexSrv_System = setupqry.dll,IndexSrv,setupqry.inf,,7
msmq=msmqocm.dll,MsmqOcm,msmqocm.inf,,6 ; temp fix for 64-bits
ims=imsinsnt.dll,OcEntry,ims.inf,,7
fp_extensions=fp40ext.dll,FrontPage4Extensions,fp40ext.inf,,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
iisdbg=iisdbg.dll,ScrptDbg,iisdbg.inf,,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,hide,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
bootom entry is imaging - if you edit out the word 'hide' so line looks like:-
imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
it should now appear in list to be added/removed (so you can uninstall it). This is also true for other entries with 'hide' in.
Thanks Wolluf.
All was as you say, except that my Imaging line in sysoc.inf reads only:
imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,hide,7
and not:
imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,hide,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
I tried both:
imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,,7 ; temp fix for 64-bits
and:
imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,,7
but neither worked.
However ...
Can I ask you; do you know anything about Adobe Premiere 6.5? This all started because I'm having an installation problem and I can't get any help from any of the Premiere forums, so I'm trying to resolve it alone - and failing!
Anyway, thanks again for the Imaging help,
Steve
Wolluf, please ignore the first part of my last post.
I am an idiot, I forgot to check under MS prog uninstall!
Imaging now appears exactly as you said it would.
Many thanks,
Steve
the same way - it should be available using add.remove windows components button from the add.remove programs control panel item (untick box to uninstall, tick the box to reinstall)
