Uninstall Internet Explorer 8

I want to remove the Internet Explorer 8 from my pc, but it seems to be impossible.
From the Control panel -> remove programs, it is not possible to do it. I have even tried to install the version 7 but it says it can't continue as there is a new version installed.
Do you know a way to uninstall this program?
