Unifired Messaging on Partner Messaging 6.0 1

We sold a Partner Messaging 6.0 to a customer and we are having trouble getting the unified messaging setup. The documentation seems out of date and I can't find a vendor that knows anything about it. The customer is using Outlook for their email and they are all running computers with Windows XP. I am trying to line up some tech support for our on-site technician.

where are you having your hangups at? I have done a few of these< and the docs are quite lame. Are you using exchange or just smtp?
