Trying to set up UM. I don't understand the SMTP/VPIM prefix. How do you obtain this? My system name is bcmm50r3, is my FQDN bcmm50r3.localdomain? And do I have to use LDAP? I've read everything, just don't understand it.

When we set this up for a customer, on the screen which displays Server Name or IP Address, we put in the IP address of the BCM.
For SMTP/VPIM we leave blank.
On LDAP server name, I think we again put in the IP address of the BCM.
Hope this helps

You don't need to put in an SMTP/VPIM prefix unless your BCM is using one to network multiple voice mail systems to one another. Just leave it blank.

Thanks for the info. I left it blank, was making it much harder than needed.
