The current doc on Edocs indicates that UC Advanced runs on a box running MSL 9.1.

The release notes say Windows.

MSL 9.1 is nowhere to be found.

What gives?

It's coming but not here yet...
The blurb/powerpoint shows some very interesting features and for collab gets it's hooks into the W part of AWC. So... you guessed it...wave goodbye to YA collab...

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this sentence.

UC 3 which is out in the next month will run on MSL 9.1 then next year be ported into MAS as well

Canuckvoip, had a demo of UC 3... very good!!! |Some really neet stuff in there. Really starting to bring together Unified Comms

Cool!
Did you get your hands on it Matt?
What were the most intriguing things?
I like the possibility of virtualization.
Also the OCS lookalike...
I need to watch the PP again.
Must admit though... I don't really want to install another 2 and then have to re-install from scratch to 3.
Good... no Windows cost
Bad... Now we have software assurance for something that did not have it before?

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this sentence.

Software assurance is not manadatory, as I understood, you just make one time purchase. The problem is that you have to agree with a license which specificaly experesses that the software is provided on AS IS basis and covered with a limited 90 days warranty on media only (CD/DVD). This means that you cannot demand MITEL to fix any bugs or remediate integration issues when other system does not performa as it should because of Mitel products. Two options: 1. You don't buy this product and look for alternatives while loosing money because of lack of good communication system. 2 You get software assurance plan which will give you access to bugfixes and upgrades for a fraction of cost of new versions.

canuck

Had a little play but yeah the best bits are integration with Dynamic status on MCD 4, including automatic status change when in meeting, if you use calender etc. New look and feel, integration with AWC plus the web interface where you can browse to your "page" from anywhere and change your status and your'll be able to see the status of other users from the web page, plus support to browse from a mobile too.

Slapin,1st years software assurance come free with purchase of software. Only after that do you need to decide to purchase additional years. If you don;t and want an upgrade then you have to pay a re-enlist price which is more to get bck into SA befor upgrading. Bug fixes are covered in supported releases wheather you have SA or not
