Hello,

I want to move the installation of Unified Communications Server to another Server. Does somebody now wich steps must be taken?

Kind regards.

Thanks again for your reply....

That's correct, there is a *.mdb file in the C:\Program Files\Mitel\Unified Communications Server folder.

The only way I know is that you get the wizard when you install the Server software, or is there a other way?

Let see of i understand you correctly:

1. install software on new server
2. copy all files and folders over the new installation folder
3. run wizard

Is that correct?

What I did:

1. install software on new server
2. copy mitel folder from old server to new server
3. use the IPUpdater.exe to update the IP and name

Now when I open Unified Communications Server Administration Tool I still see the old Server with his IPadress. When I want to add the new Server I get the message that this UC Server has been added already to the UC Server Administration Tool??????

When I connect from a client to the new server I get the message that the client failed to connect to the new server on port 2114.

Please help me!!!!

I did a portscan to the old and new server and both have a open port on 2114.

The error message of the client is: Server encountered an internal error. For more information, turn off customErrors in the server's .config file.

I removed the old server and added the new server, now IPadress is changed and could change the name :)

Now the last problem is that the client can't connect to port 2114!

The error in the Server log file is:

2011-02-17 15:27:48 Wrg: ServerService: User Domain\User failed to login: The YAServer (12 numbers) is not licensed for this LicensingServer.....

Can somebody explain what to do???

The error in the Licensing Server Log File is:

2011-02-17 15:55:33 Inf: LicensingService: Processing GetServerLicense request from server (12 numbers)
2011-02-17 15:55:33 Wrg: LicensingService: The YAServer 0025B3A44C9E is not licensed for this LicensingServer

Looks like you need to re sync the licences after you copied over the database file.
This should sync with the AMC and verify your licences.
you may also after the sync stop and start the server service before it is running again

You're right, but when I try to activate my license I get a error message: An error accurred while licensing the Unified Communications Licensing Server. The error received was: Activator.RetreiveLicense:Executing sync failed: E_W32SYNC_TIMEOUT.

It's not an easy project to move the installation to other Server :).
