I have 60GB hard drive, NTFS, win xp pro. After installing all my software (about a year ago when i bought the computer) it left me with about 30GB spare and i've hardly used any extra memory since. Recently it suddenly reported I had low memory and it showed i only had about 300KB left(from 30GB!). I hadn't installed anything either. I therefore did a disk clean up, defrag, system check, reboot, uninstalled large applications and brought back about 15GB yet every day it displays different memory sizes? Yesterday it was 18GB, today it's 7GB and all without me installing or downloading anything. Can anyone tell me why it is constantly reporting different memory sizes on my hard drive?

Clear your system restore points and see how much space you can recover.. goto disk cleanup and then click more options..system restore....cleanup
Then post back

I have cleared the system restore points as advised but it has made no difference! It now shows i'm down to 16KB! I've run anti-virus but not found anything. Any ideas?

open my computer goto folder options and make sure that your showing all files including hidden and system files... then right click each file and look at properties and see if you can find the culprit folder... by the way your restore points are located in the system volume information folder
