I have a Compaq Prosignia 200 connected to am HP Surestore CD tower. In the event viewer there are a great deal of warnings (yellow, not red) the time is a couple times a second for a few minutes, the source is Rdr, category is none and the event number is 3012. The error message is: "An unexpected nettwork error has occurred on the virtual circuit to Cdtower." (Cdtower is the tower name.

The reason I looked at this was I just installed NAV 5.02 on the server and installed the updated virus definitions and all of a sudden the server rebooted itself. It appeared that the 3012 error occured several minutes before the server crashed and they occured again upon bootup. After about 2 minutes (and about a hundered 3012 events) they seem to have stopped recurring.

Does anyone have ideas as to the 3012 event message meaning?

Thanks!

We have experienced the same problem, in regards to the error 3012 message. "an unexpected error has occured on the virtual circuit to". We encountered the problem when trying to print direct to a digital printer. We resolved the issue by setting up an LPR port and using this instead.
I am aware that you received the issue when using a cdtower, so i presume this will not help you out to much.
