Hi All,

I am an Exchange weenie, but I need some help with an IIS issue.

Periodically, the server application will show the first error shown and almost immediately throw the second error shown. Then several similar errors will cascade and shutdown the server. This happens once or twice daily!

Error: File XXXXXXX.asp Unexpected error. A trappable error (C0000005) occurred in an external object. The script cannot continue running..

Error: File XXXXXXX.asp Script Engine Exception. A ScriptEngine threw expection 'C0000005' in 'IActiveScript::Close()' from 'CActiveScriptEngine::FinalRelease()'..

Take mercy on me and help me out with what may be the cause of these errors.

Thanks,

Wyz

Hi,

I figured out what my problem was...

Initially, our exchange admin had installed the OWA files from the original Exchange 5.5 CD. Our exchange servers are at 5.5 SP4. I didn't know that there was an specific install of the OWA files on the SP4 CD and that they are required for OWA to work properly with Exchange Server 5.5 SP4. I discovered this after banging my head on my desk for a week. I compared the files on the new server with the files on the old and found that the ones on the old server were SP4. What ?!?!?

I copied the exchsrvr directory to the new server and low and behold, it OWA started working. Yay !!!

About 2 days after, IIS started to crash every 3-5 hours...

After some internet research and reapplying W2K SP4 and uninstalling and reinstalling Cold Fusion 4.5.1 SP2, I had our Exchange Admin install Exchange OWA 5.5 SP4 and it hasn't crashed since...
