Yesterday was my first time of handling a Nortel system .We have a new customer having Nortel CS1000 with release 7.5 firmware . The customer wants to have a recording solution , our distributor advised us to use the Avaya orderpro to do an audit of their existing system . We were able to establish a telnet session via orderpro to the CS1000 yesterday but till now the telnet session seems not ending . The customer just called me now that they can not make any changes or input any command again on the CS1000E because the telnet session with order pro is till active and logging data. we have tried all commands we could think of but the not helping situation. Can you advice how we can stop this active session ? .

Yes i suggested a reboot but customer said all remote offices and their 24/7 call center are connected to this CS1000. Please help.

Is the Nortel system a unix/solaris/linux system?

Could you kill the login session from a root login?

kill `who -u | grep [loginID] | cut -b45-50`

making sure to include the ` marks (accent mark under the ~, next to the number 1 usually on the keyboard)

From the Level 2 password, you can log in, then at >

>FORC 1 ( 1 being whatever session number you want forced out )

On a 7.5 system, login and type: "who" this will tell you who is logged in and what TTY they are on.

Then type in "forc X" X-is whatever TTY the WHO command comes back with. You shouldn't need admin-2 privileges
