I need to create an unduplicated count of field entries in a report over a certain time period. How do I do this?

What exactly is an your definition of Un-duplicate?
Here's the situation...

I have a volunteer database that keeps track of the number of hours volunteers work by program. Some volunteers work a program several days a month. I'm am looking to find the number of volunteers who work each month with each volunteer counted only once. I can't use the count function because that will give me the number of times volunteers worked each month.

Does this help at all???

Try using the crosstab query wizard. List employees as the rows (projects as the columns) and your Employee Row Total will give you what you want.

The crosstab query will give me the correct count, but how do I incorporate the crosstab query into my original query with parameters, etc?

Use the cross tab query instead.
You should be able to incorporate your parameters in the cross tab query.
