Understanding SIP Trunk

Pulling my hair out with X-Lite that works but not with IP Office, couple of questions please:

1)Any resources where i can learn to debug SIP trunk and understand the flow

2)Any ideas what the below forbidden message means `Warning: 65535 - "Error ID:[26] From EDM/SREG, Error ID is EDM/Sreg Relpos!"`? I am using the same password as on x-lite:

you are reading the wrong part of the trace for the error message

I am seeing both 401 unauthorized & 403 forbidden messages here.

this indicates to me that either the Username/password is incorrect or possibly the provider is also checking source IP address which has changed.

Are you trying to connect X-lite to the SIP trunk?

It should be setup as a SIP user in the IPO and you'll need a 3rd party endpoint license.

Yep, Xlite is an endpoint, you need an endpoint licence. It is not a SIP provider which is what you connect a trunk to

Besides what everyone else has said, it looks like you have your NAT setup incorrectly. You are sending your RFC1918 LAN IP to the ISP in your SIP options messages:

You need to go back over your trunk settings and put your public IP address in the correct field and verify your NAT settings.

Walking you through that here is tedious to say the least and has been done multiple times with other products but they are all the same as they are all SIP.

Here the basics
All SIP extensions use 3 settings.
- User name
- extension number
- password (under user - telephony - supervisor settings)

with that info you can play and should get it probably done as it is just a matter of where you enter that information in the application to make it work.
Make sure you have the third party IP endpoint license otherwise you will get mad as it will never work.
