Understanding formulas 2

I am a novice with Crystal reports and I am having a difficult time with the formulas. Is there a good tutorial on the web anyplace that helps to make sense of something that I find very confusing?

I don't know of anything good that covers formulas as a general topic. The Crystal help is pretty good on individual functions.
They work pretty much like Excel, except that in Crystal you are working with columns and generating columns instead of individual cells.

Thank you for anserwing my question. We thought we would start out with a simple Birthday list for staff in our office. The SQL/ODBC table I am using is {employees}. I am able to get the info I need, however I get employees that have been terminated as well.

I have done an if ({Employees.TerminationDate})< CurrentDate
then ({Employees.SupportRecordStatus}) =&quot;I&quot;

This shows us the ex staff members, I have done a grouping and stuck them on the bottom of the report. What I would really like to do is have them not show at all.
I am just not sure how to word the formula.

Hi, I managed to have the info not show up by using the select expert and choosing employees.supportrecordstatus &quot;is not like&quot; + &quot;I&quot;
