Understanding Cisco Unity and Exchange MailStores? 1

I have a question about the Unity Mail Store that I'm not clear on.

1) Are Unity messages stored on the mailstore on the Unity server or the Exchange partner server?

2) We are installing a new Exchange 2003 server (the same release as the current). The mailstore will be migrated over too. We will change the partner server on Unity to this new Exchange server. What about the messages?

Do I do nothing if they are stored on the Unity mailstore or do I need to merge the messages from the old Exchange mailstore to the new Exchange server?

Thanks in advanced!

The message store is the exchange server and that is where the messages are stored. So when you migrate to the new 2003 server the voice messages will move over along with the rest of the emails.

Thanks whykap, I had a hunch, but didn't have a clue.

I'm curious to know though .... on Cisco Unity where can I go within the configuration to see what Mail Store it is pointing to on a Exchange server?

Thanks again!
