Need more info on this..
Are you using active directory? All 2K servers or NT4? Windows 2000 doesn't activate the numlock button at startup - have you checked into that as a cause? Are you replicating between more than 1 DC across a WAN or anything?

Dear Pbxman,
First of all I would like to thank you for your response to this problem. As you requested for some info:
We're using active directory in win2k. We have also investigated the possibility of number lock button at start-up.
As far as the replication goes, yes we’re replicating between more than 1 DC across the WAN.
