I have a user who appears to be logging onto other users mailboxes. The event log is recording user xxxx is logging onto yyyy mailbox and is not the primary owner. I've checked over all the permmissions on the information store and the mailboxes themselves and this user should not be able to gain access. They also do not have necessary NT permissions to do so.

Does anyone have any idea how they could be doing this? The server is an exchange 5.5 and the user in question is running a win2k machine.

Are you sure that the account is not from a backup- or anti-virus software?

Regards // Micke

You may want to check if that person is a delagate. You can make someone a delegate an I dont believe the permissions will show up in admin.exe. I will cehck just to be sure though.

It could be them just logging on to the calander of the other user or other shared resource.

Check it out.
