Hi,

Am trying to update an Administrative install point of MS Project 2000 (yes, I know) with the MSP file to upgrade it SR-1. I've looked all over the web and it seems to be very simple, at a command prompt do the following:

MSIEXEC.EXE /A \\>SERVER\SHARE>\>PATH TO CURRENT ADMINISTRATIVE INSTALLATION>\INSTALL.MSI /P C:\MSPRJPCH\MSPRJSR1.MSP SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE

or various similar permutations. My problem is that when I try to do pretty much any of these, all I get is either the Msiexec windows installer help and switches popup, or a notification advising the the MSI fie is unreadable! I'm running WIndows XP SP2, Windows Installer v3.01.

As an additonal note, when the MSIexec popup comes up, there doesn't seem to be a /P switch documented on there, despite all the sites I've visited which give the same advice.

Any help or suggestions VERY gratefully accepted..

cheers

Will

Well I managed to sort out my own response to this and that was to NOT use the latest version of Windows Installer. Don't know if the switches have changed or what, but I reverted to using MSIEXEC v2 and it all worked perfectly
