Dear All,

We have 2 Exchange organisations - one Exch 5.5, the other Exch 2000 - latest patches.

Last weekend we used Quest FastLane migrator to migrate all user mailboxes from Exch 5.5 to Exch 2000.

All went very well, excepting we have a few users who keep getting the "unable to update free/busy data" message when using Calendaring with Outlook. (We use a mix of Outlook 2000 and Outlook XP).

After further investigation, I've noticed that for this small group of users when they add / modify appointments in their calendar it can take over an hour before other users who open their calendar (on the same mail server), see these changes.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thank-you.
Adrian Wheway.

Managed to get round this problem partially by editing a user's outlook profile, typing in their username into the mailbox field and clicking checkname.

Then ran outlook.exe. /cleanfreebusy and this helped - a bit!

After 15 mins, some users were finding that they still got the free/busy error reoccuring on certain other users calendars!

Any help welcome.

Some users continued to have this free/busy error occasionally when opening other user's calendars. Solution was to open the permissions on the other user's calendar, remove and then add back in one of the permissions that was listed against that calendar - all free/busy errors went away!

Must be an ACL setting issue when using Quest perhaps?

Adrian.
