I have a user who is unable to type in web pages....an example is search criteria. When he goes to google.com, he is unable to type his search criteria. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas. His computer is updated with the latest updates from Microsoft and the pc is running Win2k.

Do the troubleshooting steps from the site FAQ on steps to take before a Hijack log is necessary: faq608-4650

The #2-#4 steps will ensure that there are no HOSTS issues, and that you are clean of the most common "Hijacks" of Internet Explorer.

Had same problem. Solution was to go to Add Remove Programs, Windows Components, and select IE 6, remove. On the next dialog box select Repair and after reboot browser was fine.

thanks dfwenger for the tip...I'll write it down for next time. The user decided to wipe out the machine because it has been around a while and it really needed to be wiped out anyway, so we took that route. I'll remember this tip though in case I see the problem again.
