Hi,

I have a weird issue. When a caller tries to transfer a call she has just made, the transfer doesn't work. In fact the transfer button just does nothing. (PA/Exec setup)

Other weird thing is that the hold button also doesn't function.
Phone is not faulty as transferring and putting calls on hold works for any other type of call.

Some background:

Mitel 3300 ver 8 ur 5 connected via DPNSS to Philips Sopho IS 3000. all PSTN trunks are connected to Philips, Mitel get access to PSTN through Philips.

I called one of the Philips extensions and tried transfer and hold, both worked fine.
CCS trace brought nothing to the table either.
I've checked settings in COS (forward external, public to public allowed etc) but no joy.

any help would be appreciated?

thanks

I had a similar issue when trying to be clever and using a hot-line set up to input the 9 on a line key. Worked great then relised that once made a call this way you could transfer. Like you said the transfer key didn't work. However i was able to put it on hold presing the red hold key and when i got the call back the transfer key worked! Anyhow didn't raise it cause i was "frigging the system anyway". Interesting that you've got it.

What phone are you using? Is the person dialling out on a line key?

using a 5330 and using the prime line key.

am thinking that it's maybe the Philips not letting the Mitel know that the call has been connected hence the features are not available.

Can you post the CCS trace?

Be sure the COS Suppress Fake CCM is set to no in the phones Class of Service, I got burnt by this before.

Ok I'll post CCS trace in due course.
I haven't touched that option so it's default. I think default is no in any case right? I must admit I did think of it being some weird COS option but not sure exactly where to look.

thanks for the response

some feedback,

the scenario works when simulating with a Trend tester. Connect back to the PSTN and you can't transfer.

Is there a setting that can be turned on like fake answer supervision??

my guess is that I'm not getting answer supervision from PSTN via Philips over the DPNSS link.

Here's the CCS trace:

only CCS info after this is when I hang up the call.

The trunk cct Descriptor should have the option you are looking for.

Here are some examples:

Fake Answer Supervision After Outpulsing: No
Ignore Answer Supervision: No
Release Supervision Expected: Yes
Audio Inhibit Until Answer Supervision: Yes

kwbmitel,
can these be used for digital links E1? I think it's only available for T1?

don't have CO trunk c descriptor set at all.

Sorry, I was reading the Help Files too quickly.

I was looking up the MSDN-DPNSS-DASSII Trunk Circuit Descriptor but I didn't notice the heading change to Digital E and M Trunk Circuit Descriptor Assignment.

I'm checking my Rel 9 notes as I seem to remember something on this.

Update soon.

Nope, nothing there either. I know I saw something on this recently but I can't figure out where. If I figure it out, I'll let you know.

There's a COS option along the lines of Supress CCM...ISDN Progress blah blah.

changed this option but made no difference. Have escalated this to 3rd line. Traces appear to be 'normal'.

Will keep you posted.

thanks for the replies so far guys.

OK, here's the solution to this problem. load release 9.0.0.41 and load the patch supplied by design!
