Unable to sync lv hd6

Hi,

Sorry for my bad english.

After a disk failed and changed i have errors when i want to sync the paging space.

The LV state of hd6 (paging space) is stale.

root@cauprod1 /home/root==>lsvg -l rootvg

hd6 is mirror on two disks :

root@cauprod1 /home/root==>lslv -l hd6
hd6:N/A
PV COPIES IN BAND DISTRIBUTION
hdisk1 166:000:000 59% 055:098:013:000:000
hdisk0 166:000:000 65% 000:108:058:000:000


If i sync :

root@cauprod1 /home/root==>syncvg -l hd6
0516-068 lresynclv: Unable to completely resynchronize volume. Run
diagnostics if neccessary.
0516-934 /usr/sbin/syncvg: Unable to synchronize logical volume hd6.
root@cauprod1 /home/root==>

Just 1 PP is stale on hdisk0 (0 on hdisk1) :

root@cauprod1 /home/root==>lspv -M hdisk0 | grep stale | wc -l
1
root@cauprod1 /home/root==>

I have no error on errpt.

Have you got suggestions ?

what did you do before the pgsp stale? Any change with pgsp?

Low version AIX, if you did any change with it. You need reboot server, I think.

Same after IPL.
Nothing on errpt.

Before i change hdisk0 (disk failed).
I do : rmlvcopy, reducevg, rmdev -dl hdisk0, change disk, extendvg, mklvcopy, syncvg and i have 1 PP stale on hdisk0 (paging lv).


Have you got suggestions ?

I'd just give up and remove hd6 and recreate it.
depending on your AIX level this can be done online or you may need to boot from compatible install/maintenance media...

Why not?

replacepv old new
