Unable To Send Mail

I am trying to setup a client to send a mail to the intranet mail server but not successful.

After I have sent the mail,
I did
#mailq
and I get this msg

h967Djw0000003337 0 Mon Oct 6 15:13 asdf@adsf.com
(john@scs.com.sg... reply: read error from exchange4.scs.com.sg.)
john@scs.com.sg

Is there something wrong with my configuration in sendmail.cf?

The exchange server's name is exchange4

U need to be a little more specific.
Is the intranet server the exchange box or is the intranet box used as a smart host (sendmail) to relay mail somewhere else ?
Before you post your config you need to lay out your network topology.

Sorry,I am quite new to this place.

There is an intranet box that is the exchange box.
I have a Tru64 server that needs to sendmail to the exchange box.

OK ... you have a TRU64 box in the dmz that is acting as a smart host and relaying mail to your exchange server on a private intranet ???

Is that correct ????
