Hi all - Hope someone can help.
I have 45 users able to send and receive e-mail just fine. One user can receive e-mail but is unable to send. Exchange 2000 on Windows 2000 Pro with Office XP. The error message on sending of e-mail is Task Microsoft Exchange Server Report operation failed 0x80004005.

I have deleted his e-mail from his machine and re-added it, made sure that the service packs are applied to Office and to Windows 2000 Pro. No one else has this issue.

There are no errors in the event log. Virus scan is clean.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Victoria

Can the user see his email when logged on as himself on another machine?

And now, the rest of the story - turns out the user failed to log off his computer during a recent update involving the sqlserver. At the time that the server was rebooting in order to update the files he was attempting to send an e-mail. Everyone else, of course, was logged out of the system per instructions. An uninstall of the update and reboot of the server fixed his problem as well as the crunched data on the sqlserver. A re-install of the update with him properly logged out did not result in futher problems.

Thanks for your imput. It is always helpful to get the rest of the story. :)
