Inherited an Illustrator file but cannot select anything. Objects are not grouped and layers are not locked. Not that skilled in PI so not sure what else to look at. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe explain a bit, or post the file, so that we can see what is really happening.
Which tool do you use to make the selection?
Are you sure it is vectors, cause an AI file can also contain pixels
