Unable to see SQL file group

Hi all,

I'm currently using BE 9.1 with SQL agent, on a server with Windows 2003 & SQL 2000 (SP3a) on it. The problem is that I'm not able to see the SQL file group share from the BE interface. I've tried the veritas site, but none of those registry changes help

What LOGIN is Backup Exec running as? That login needs access to the files.

For example, let's say I'm running my Backup Exec jobs as SQLBill. SQLBill needs to have a login (access) to the SQL Server and any database I need to backup.

The login account is a domain admin account & it's also in the SQL sa group owners of all db talbles.

Next thing to check: are there any errors in the Windows Event Logs (check all three, but look for login errors in the Security log).

Then check the SQL Server Logs, in Enterprise Manager drill down to Management, expand that, expand SQL Server Logs and open the current one.

Look through both logs for the times you are trying the backups. See if there's any errors noted.

Well, no errors related to it. But I have done a test installation on a W2K server, which has no problem what so ever at all.

Any suggestions or comments?

Do you have the Remote Agent installed?

Add the backup exec service account to the local administrators group on the server.

I have seen this before, even though the domain admins group was in there, you had to specifically put in the service account to get it to work.

The BE service account is in the local administrators group
