Unable to see or add to favorites 1

I am not sure what I did, but I accidently pressed a button and now I have no favorites in my list. I just have the menu files and completely unable to add, manage or do anything with the favorites on the toolbar.
If I log in with a different profile, I can use the favorites. I upgraded to IE7, hoping that will resolve the problem. I would prefer to keep my profile because of all the apps that I use.

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:
[HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]

Set the Favorites path to %USERPROFILE%\Favorites

The above should be a REG_EXPAND_SZ value, not REG_SZ

I edited the registry as described by jujet85. Noticed that the value was REG_SZ and not REG_EXPAND_SZ. Renamed original favorites key and created new key as favorites with REG_EXPAND_SZ and put the correct favorites path. Looked good, and deleted the renamed original favorites key.
