I recently re-installed my pc with win98. I used to have the my network neighborhood icon on my desk top but not now. I have searched through the knowledge base and did those settings in the registry(as suggested by MS) and also I have reinstalled tcp/ip, client for MS netowrks and also the NIC. Still I cannot see. I also reinstalled the OS several times. But to avail.
Please help.

Did you check the settings at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer"NoNetHood"=hex:01,00,00,00

this is what turns NetHood desktop display on and off

If you have "TWEAK UI" you can also do it thru there.

if you do not have it (TWEAKUI) you can download it from

Lety me know how you come out

have you installed Networking in ur system, i.e The NIC, required protocols and enabled File and Print Sharing?
