Hi,
I keep getting the following error in ColdFusion Studio5 "Error #5. Unable ta save file Z:\unfunded\unf_report.cfm" I have read and write permissions to the Z: drive (Microsoft Server) but when I modify the file and then try to save it, ColdFusion will not allow it. Any ideas?

Thanks

Have you tried saving the file to your local machine then copying it over to your Z drive?

It may also be that you've lost connection to your Z drive.

Hope This Helps!

very clever idea...

I was able to save to the C: drive but I was not able to overwrite the file on the Z: drive. When I tried to overwrite the file, I get: "Cannot copy unf_report: Access is denied. The source file may be in use."

So the problem may not be with ColdFusion. I will try again after business hours, I might have a customer using the report.

Thanks

a .cfm page is only used for a second by the cf service. then the service releases it. You can try restarting CF to be sure, but it sounds like either your server is goofy or a service hasn't let the file go properly. Do you have the file locked when you're editing it?

Problem fixed and it was not related to ColdFusion. While I had full rights on the NTFS, I did not have "Full Control" in the Shared Permissions tab under the Computer Management console of the server. Your idea to copy the file to the hard drive was the key in isolating the problem.
Thanks.

That was ecar's idea, I gave him the star.
