Unable to save existing reports

I am using CR 9 and Sql Server 2005. Anytime I modify existing reports and try to save using a different name, I come across this error:

"Unable to write to sample.rpt, it is read-only or opened by someone else"

I could just save it using a different name but I was wondering if there's a way to avoid this issue. Thanks.

I would suspect an administration option on the server side that prohibits overwrites. Check with the server admin. Can you save it locally somewhere and then open and rewrite?
