Unable to relinquish license

Hi,
I have a client with a W2K3 FSagent installed, and according to the commcell the license has expired, and the defaultsunclient is greyed out.
When i look at the available permanent license there are plenty.

I tryed uninstalling and reinstalling the FS dataagent, and it gave me an error "Unable to relinquish license file", and i would need to manually do this. Has anyone had this error before?

did it let you reinstall?
Can you deconfigure the client then reinstall?

Yes it let me reinstall, but the default subclient is still greyed out.
I haven't tryed deconfiguring the client yet. Will this remove all the pointers for the data backed up?

Reinstall the agent and then try to deconfigure. After it deconfigures uninstall the agent from the client and then reinstall.

If you deconfigure it wont delete any pointers to the data however if you delete the client completely form the GUI it will so please be careful. Make sure you click deconfigure and not delete.

Hi C Bro,

I tryed deconfiguring and still no joy.
I spoke with commvault, and they are going to look at this for me.
I will post it back in the forum once i get the fix.
