unable to record new greetings for AA

We have a rel 7 500v2 with embedded vm running in essential mode. We added a second AA and now we are trying to record new greetings using the short codes when we go to save the new greeting the system does not allow us to do so. Everything appears OK as far as time profiles are concerned and enable local recording is checked.
