All,
Just wondering if you've encountered issues like these after implementing Critical Automatic Updates for users.
After doing Automatic Updates ( Critical Updates from the Microsoft Website ), User's printing settings are all screwed up.
We have a LaserJet 4MV and LaserJet 5000 that's capable of 11x17. User tries printing to 11x17 via network and printouts keeps coming out on Letter size paper.
Troubleshooting:
-Deleted-Reinstalled Drivers - > No luck.
-Made sure I reinstalled Newest drivers -> No luck.
-Recreated the c:\winnt\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 folder and started with a new one-> No luck.
I've done some googling on this issue and from the looks of things, it's possible that it's an RPC issue. ( Spool Service is dependent of the RPC Service. ) I've installed the MSBLAST patch to see if this was causing it but it's still the same problem.
User's machine is a Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2.
( It's still on Service Pack 2 because of application purposes. )I'm thinking of going as far as reapplying Service Pack 2 or Installing Service Pack 3 on top of that. ( I'm not even going to think about Service Pack 4 because in my history ever since this Service Pack came out, it has been nothing but problems....that's another story. )
An input on this is greatly appreciated.....Thanks All.
Marvin
