Can anyone shed some light on this problem for me? I am running a Mitel 3300 with version 7.1.4.9. I just brought up a 5235IP phone and for some reason it is unable to play voicemail messages (other phones are OK). I can login to Voicemail fine but when I try to play the message I get "The voicemessage can not be played because a system error has occured"

Checking the logs on the 3300 I see this error: SacVoiceMailOpenMsg->VVM_AudioMgmt:eek:penPlayMessageFile failed for extn '224' (Dev Index 0) due to error 77

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What do you have in the visual voice mail field (last field) in the user's phone configuration? Should be your VM hunt group.

The Visual Voicemail hunt Group is specified correctly.

I don't know if it is related or not but when I configure the extension through the Group Administration Tool, the Setup/Edit Desktop option is greyed out. Similar to when 6600YAPro is selected.

To configure key assignments I am forced to go through the System Administration Tool - Set Key Assignments. This may just be due to the phone's dynamic interface...

Looks like I just solved my problem. This extension was assigned to a 5140IP phone previously and the line type was set to multicall instead of Single Line. I deleted the extension and recreated it. doing this created the extension as a single Line device and now the phone works properly.
