Hello,
Our mailserver was domaincontroller, we build 2 new domaincontrollers.
Now we did dcpromo on the mailserver so he became a member server.
At this moment we are unable to ping from our 2 Domain controllers to the mailserver.
If we ping from the mailserver to the 2 Domain controllers it work just fine.
Does anyone knows a solution for this?

Thanks.
Marco

Hello,
If i look a the group policy on the windows firewall settings it says not configured

Maybe a VPN client with integrated (stateful) firewall? I know the Cisco VPN client has one.

"Now we did dcpromo on the mailserver so he became a member server." Dcpromo on an Exchange server is not supported.

you should not have done dcpromo. its never recommended to install exchange on a domain controller unless you intend to leave it like that and its still not totally recommended.

i do believe when you dcpromo the exchange server you changed the security settings so you probably messed up your exchange setup.

It's not recommended, but you can have exchange on a domain controller. It's not supported to promote or demote a server running exchange.

The problem was RRAS service.
It was enabled on the Exchange server, now it is disabled and everyeting works just fine
