Hi,
I have been having issues with a client accessing the shared network drives. After a reboot of the server and this computer, its still not connecting. No issue with any others.

I removed this pc from the domain and now cannot add back. I also discovered that no other computer on the network can ping the DC server either? But, I can ping to clients from the DC. Any ideas, or services I should check that are running?

Thanks!

Eek,
windows firewall cannot run because another program or service is running that might use the network address translation component ipnat.sys

Have been looking for google answers, but not finding a solution. Also, this is strange as I didn't have this problem in the past.

Well, I did manage to get the PC back on the domain, but am unable to connect the network shard folders. All three are listed as disconnected network drive. Also, I am unable to open a Run dialog - and type in \\server to connect. All other PCs can, any ideas?

Check for malware.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

All right, thanks. I just find it odd that I cannot ping/rdc the server.

jer18,
check the programs installed/running (e.g. ISA) on the DC.

You can also look at the lasted patches that have been updated and retry to revert back to a restore point.

You can also try doing a repair using the original OS CD/DVD.

I checked for ISA - its not installed. In the past day I was able to join the domain, I still cannot add network drives. My pc is able to connect to the drives and RDC to the server. However, I as well cannot ping the server (DNS should be fine since pinging name resolves an IP, but requests time out).
Virus scan was clean on client , and MalwareBytes still running 2+hours now - no infections.

Something is blocking ICMP traffic.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

I am have the same problems. Windows Server 2003 SBE with all the latest updates. No workstations can ping or connect with the server. The server can ping and connect to all of the workstations. I am also getting the same error: "windows firewall cannot run because another program or service is running that might use the network address translation component ipnat.sys". Has anyone come up with a resolution for this?
